Juxtaposition 2024
As any modern city in the world changes, Sydney follows this trait. The new Metro, Light Rail and expanding highways allows travel from outside areas into this harbour city to come see and explore her beauty!
This art piece was created with the intention of showing my current suburb-North Sydney- from neighbouring Neutral Bay’s treelined grounds, to one of change and growth in more ways than one… the middle section shows the blur of speeding cars on the motorway… the circular ferris wheel turning, depicts the spiralling movement of dizzying heights don’t just happen at Luna Park but they are all around us, together with the loss of blue sky due to upwards and onwards of highrise apartments and offices being constructed. Do you see the irony? The glimpse of Sydney Harbour Bridge? Let’s hope they put back the trees somewhere to provide fresh air and restore our beautiful city of Sydney.
